Mt. Wash. I love it :)

And I was only procrastinating for a week, that's it. Scout's honor.

You are so lucky, Alexandra. I wish I felt the same way about the chores. I am also a neat freak, but I HATE to clean and tidy up - quite the conflict, huh...

Thank you for sharing, Melanie. I'm also a list person, but I now need a master list, as I have way too many lists... I think I can go through a fat post-it notes pad in a week...

funny! funny! Great l.O Avital.

I don't have a method or a system, just a daily routine.
I stay on top of things and my philosophy is to enjoy everything, even scrubbing the toilet bowl!
Maybe I'm lucky because I enjoy the smell of cleanliness so much that it's enough for me to keep me going.
Doing chores is also a great time to "drift away" or contemplate...oh and also I can't create chaos until the house is immaculate so there: I'm a neat freak and a very happy one!

Thank you for a great post!

I pick my battles. I also know I don't have time to houseclean, so I hire someone to do that. If I work, I will have a person clean my house (that is the deal!) I tend to keep sticky notes all over the place too and I have to have a daily planner. I like lists. And crossing off things.

I used to have a system, then with time I dropped it unfortunately. The current one is rather random, though it seems to be working. Laundry - whenever the basket is full, and I know I'm staying at home for the next hour. Ironing - who needs a better excuse for watching cooking shows from the DVR? Dishes - the ones that are not dishwasher safe I try to wash them as soon as they're emptied after cooking/eating. Cleaning the apartment - now, that's where I have the most problem. I only do the kitchen and the bathroom (around) weekly, the rest of the apartment gets cleaned every 3-4th week.

I have a daily list that I check off. It includes even the smallest tasks like making my bed so the list seems rather long. It also includes weekly as well as monthly tasks and one other category; what's for supper. Having a detailed list keeps me focused.
